Families in The Forest Photography Sessions Update!!!

Wow, we have been so busy with our Families in The Forest Project in full swing. It has been so much fun meeting all our new families, with and without HeartKids, but all happy to support this wonderful project.

We wanted to share the story of one HeartKid who we photographed recently. Here is Ellie’s story as told by her Mum:

“Ellie Jayde was born at 31 weeks weighing only 1.4 kgs. At just 5 weeks old and about to go home a heart murmur was detected… after an echo we found out Ellie was in heart failure and had something called coarctation of the aorta as well as a bicuspid valve and a hole in her heart. She was rushed to Lady Cilento and had heart surgery a week later. Ellie is a happy healthy almost 2 year old and is doing well and can’t wait for her new little brother Levi to run around with her. She will need further surgery as she gets older for the valve but for now her repair is holding up well.”

It was a pleasure to meet such a wonderful, loving family and spend the morning photographing them all in one of our favourite forests. After they spent time exploring the area, they were then able to view all their gorgeous photos in the afternoon, in our beautiful Maleny studio.

Thank you to all the families who have been involved so far and I look forward to our shoots in the coming weeks for those who have been chosen to be part of this amazing project.
